The 24th Annual Meeting of the WHO Regions for Health Network (RHN) meeting took place from 11-12 June 2018 in Goteborg, Sweden.

Participants from over 30 regions from all over The Who European Region met to share their experiences and discuss how to operationalize the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the subnational level. The name of the meeting was “Building a healthier future for all: a role to play for everyone”. It included sessions on environment and health, women’s and men’s health, soft skills for negotiation and health diplomacy.

Peter Beznec, the Director of Centre for Health and Development Murska Sobota was a speaker at Session 7: Investing for Health – Driving Prosperity for All. In his presentation “Investment for Health and Development - Intersectoral Action for Health and Development in Pomurje region and Slovenia”. He talked about the whole-of-society approach and investing for people’s health across sectors and reducing health inequalities with examples from the Pomurje region.
